The challenge was to design a fly fishing map of the Tarryall River as it flows through the ranch situated at the east side of South Par, Colorado. The map needed to incorporate watercolor sketches of the river into the final map design. The first step was to gather enough field sketches for the client to have a wide choice of images for the map design.
The initial concept was based on a map I had previously created at a nearby fishing camp. The map incorporated small watercolors of unique spots along the fishing stream.
I spent three glorious fall days in late September sketching along the Tarryall River as it weaves it's way through the Eagle Rock Ranch.
